My journey of personal expression
Watercolour is really special technique. If it suits you, you will fall in love with it. But if it isn’t to your liking, it will never feel like home. We didn’t use this technique during my studies, so I ventured into the world of watercolour all on my own.
I discovered liquid watercolour in an art supply shop, which was a stepping stone in discovering the magic of watercolour painting. I’ve been doing it for about twenty years now. As with any technique, you have to learn the basics and, above all, paint a lot.
It is practice that will bring you new approaches and solutions to the challenges you might face in your artistry. Especially important to me as an artist is to have fun with it and to be surprised by the colours time and time again. Over the years I have developed a unique technique and way of painting. I like to express myself with strong strokes and vibrant colours. My paintings are full of details, contrasts, light and colour.
Watercolour painting unveils inspirations
My senses and feelings are guiding me when I am choosing my motives, and it follows me through the painting process as well. I paint form my own experience and use what I am feeling there and then. So, all my paintings come from the inside in a way, and the motives that inspire me come from nature.
I feel the best version of myself whrn I am surrounded by nature, which is my inspiration and my refuge from the often crazy world of man. I pour everything that nature gives me onto the painting surface and share it with you all through my paintings. It gives me a special pleasure when people connect with my paintings and when the art is felt.
Let me finish with a quote I got in a message from a friend from Japan:
” Your art coexists with nature. And it seems like they are becoming one with nature and expressing themselves. I feel a very strong vitality and creativity.”
