Very rarely do I paint magical meadows in acrylics. Somehow it flows better with watercolour. This painting is one of the exceptions. I wanted to capture the atmosphere of a meadow in bloom, the warmth and beauty of a sunny day. In watercolour there is more emphasis on the vitality and life of the plants, but here it is about creating an atmosphere that I find easier to create with acrylic. The painting is in a way soft, created by applying many layers of thin colour.
