This is one of the paintings I created as summer gave way to autumn. Although the days are still very warm and pleasant, they are also getting shorter and shorter, and the sensation in my body is quite different. I love autumn – for its extraordinary colours, and because it’s no longer so hot, yet still pleasant. At the same time, I felt the need to capture the warmth and light of the sun in a painting. Just as animals store up fruit in autumn for the winter.
