Due to everything that’s been happening in the world, this past winter felt particularly dark and gloomy. My heart longed for the warmth and lightness of spring, for growth and joy. And so this image of joy and lightness spilled onto the canvas—a blossoming tree that embraces you in its gentle arms and fills you with life.

For me, every painting is about creating balance, about healing. In creative process, I work through heavy energies that, by the time the painting is finished, disappear or transform into something entirely different. Into what I need at that particular moment. When I finally placed the painting on the easel, I felt a cascade of light flowing through it.
