The spirituality is a very important part not only of my life but also of my creative work. This kind of creation requires openness, vulnerability and honesty. This year has been really challenging. The energies have been so intense that I needed to work on it in order to become aware of certain layers and to move forward. There is a lot of gravity from the ancestors in this. I allowed the images in the painting to come on their own, with as little control as possible. The result is a painting that borders on the abstract. Flowing and light, it frees the trapped energies of the past, the weight of a difficult life and the traumatic experiences of my ancestors. As I finished it, this weight began to release.
