Recently, I have been adding metal leaves to my watercolors quite often. Since metal is a completely different element, with properties that are unlike those of paint, the relationships within the painting are completely transformed. The colors and composition shift, revealing a different, deeper layer. It is as if nature were showing me its deeper layers or its energetic structure.
